    Hi Laurie,
Glad to hear someone is listening to the radio! As far as boosting your immune system to prevent the flu, there are many things you can do:
Your first line of defense is your diet and exercise program. Eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as you can- best raw or lightly cooked. Eat whole grains like brown rice and legumes like beans and lentils. Be sure to include healthy bacteria in your diet by eating fermented foods, organic unsweetened yogurt, or by taking a probiotic. Keeping your gut functioning properly will really help you to fight off illness. Avoid processed foods, white sugar, white flour, artificial sweeteners, preservatives all of which tax the system.
Move- getting moderate to mild exercise like skiing , walking briskly, yoga, tai chi has been shown to improve immune function.
looks like this box is too small- I will continue in another comment…Kathy

    so to continue:
There are many herbs and supplements that may benefit immune function inc: Vitamin A, C & D, Zinc, Echinacea, Goldenseal, Astragulus, Elderberry, Garlic, just to name a few. Also taking a good quality Multi-Vitamin will help.
At Greens N Grains we have supplements and tinctures that contain a variety of immune boosting ingredients all in one convenient pill.
So first reduce the strain on your immune system by avoiding chemicals (like the ones found in household cleaning supplies), preservatives, antibiotics, poor diet, and stress (another wonderful benefit of yoga!)
And then support the immune system with live foods, herbs and supplements!
If you have contracted the flu already there are numerous herbal, homeopathic and healthy options to support rapid healing and reduce symptoms.
Since all colds and flus are caused by viruses contracted through the mouth and nose using a neti pot can also be of assistance! and of course wash your hands!
    thanks, Kathy

I was so excited to find out about your store during my annual visit to Door County last week. I am allergic to gluten, soy, and dairy and often have to bring all of my food from home and haul it up with me. It’s so comforting to know that there is a store that has products that meets my dietary needs right up in Door County. It literally felt like I was in a safe haven when I was browsing your shelves. I am so grateful you are open and have so many items. I hope you are in business for many years! Many people have food allergies and sensitivities and Door County needs stores like yours so they can enjoy their vacations too.
